December Girl Power Sunday - feat. Angela

December Girl Power Sunday - feat. Angela

Beautiful, young, and successful? @theultimateangela probably has it all! She's brave, talented and with curves in all the right places. Although she envisioned herself owning a cafe in the future, she somehow found herself fulfilling that dream earlier than expected. Read on to hear her story.
  1. Please introduce yourself and tell us how you got started as a Content Creator and now entrepreneur.

I'm Angela, and I'm 24. It was because one of my friends, who is my current partner, was looking for someone to share a workshop with her. I was looking for something fun to do before selling my soul to the corporate world, so I agreed, and after some decorating, we ended up making the whole space a cafe. Me being an entrepreneur is super random. I mean, I'm a marketing and advertising student, so there's no way the first thing I did was own a cafe immediately after graduating. But to be honest, owning a cafe is my final goal after I get into the corporate world for a few years, earn some money, and then maybe have my own cafe at that time. But ya, the opportunity just knocked on my door like that, and I'm glad that I was able to catch it and cherish the chance.

  1. How do you stay motivated and come up with fresh ideas for your content?

It was when I realised that I love admiring small little things in life, such as beautiful clothes, beautiful cafes and food, and I wanted to share them with others. And also, whenever I'm capturing all these moments, some ideas will just pop up from nowhere, so I combine them.

  1. Speaking of entrepreneurs, what inspired you to open a cute café?

As I mentioned, owning a cafe has been my dream since I was a kid. I still remember that when we played masak in the past, we played it real, like we literally cooked and baked. Plus, I really enjoy making food, especially making them aesthetically pleasing. It's so therapeutic.

  1. Can you tell us what you believe are the biggest challenges faced by small business owners today, and how do you overcome them?

I think the biggest challenge for small business owners like me will be the lack of time and enough exposure. Due to limited capital, most of us are required to do everything on our own, such as designing, marketing, photo shooting, editing, etc.… Basically, we just multitask all the time, and time is never enough for us. It is quite awkward because we are not big enough to hire more staff, but we are not that small to handle everything by ourselves. But we choose to take these as an opportunity to learn new skills and strengthen what we already have.

  1. What are your future goals and aspirations as a business owner?

My future goal is actually owning my own bakery, and everyone will be surrounded by different types of bread. On the other hand, I'll still work hard on what I always do, the marketing and advertising part.

  1. What advice would you give to someone who is just starting out as a small business owner?

Don't spend too much time on planning, but spend more time on acting. You'll never get it right no matter how much time you spend on planning, but it's way easier if you start to take action because the outcome will give you a clearer direction.

  1. In your journey, is there anything you would have done differently in your career or life choices?

I would try being a singer or performer because that is what I wanted, but reality hits hahaha!

  1. What is one thing people don't know about you?

Hmmm, I only agree to eat with best friends of mine. To me, eating is one of the best moments, and I don't want to feel the need to socialise at this specific moment.

  1. If your life was a movie, which character would you be?

Hmm, I guess it would be Oppenheimer.

  1. Could you describe yourself in a few words?

Stubborn, energised by time alone, focused on big pictures and concepts, always led by logic and reason and always needs to be organised.

  1. What is the best quote that you live by?

The best quote is 'It is what it is'; do your best and let the rest be.
